Riverfront stunner over the line

AFTER 262 days on the market and listings by six real estate agencies, 46 Amalfi Drive has been sold post auction by Lucy Cole Prestige Property agent Eddy Sarroff.

The tri-level Isle of Capri stunner on a premier riverfront site was passed in at auction for $2.45m last month despite strong interest, attendance by 107 people and nine registered bidders. The purchaser, a local man with a young family, attended the auction but did not bid on the day. Settlement is expected before Easter.

While it was at one stage asking for offers above $3 million, Mr Sarroff would not disclose the sale price and said the buyer wished to remain anonymous.

"Both the purchaser and seller were quite happy with the price and certainly from my viewpoint it's an exciting result," he said. "In the lead-up to the auction we brought through 119 groups, which is an extraordinary large number.

"There is no doubt Amalfi Drive has been considered a hot spot."

Developers George Zivanovic and his wife, Mirjana, bought the original property for $2.25 million in 2008 and demolished it to build the tri-level designer house.

Created by Jared Poole Design to embrace wide water views of the Nerang River and Surfers Paradise skyline, it has Crema marble floor tiles, four bedrooms, a study, a media room, a gym, five bathrooms, a pool and a six-car garage.
