Alfa Romeo 4C delayed for US until mid-2014

It appears that Alfa Romeo is banking on the principle of absence leading to fonder hearts when it comes to the 4C, with a report in the Detroit Free Press saying the arrival of the coupe has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2014. No reason was given for the delay.

We can only hope the Free Press article is correct, since it cited a Fiat spokesperson who said the 4C wouldn't be here "until the second quarter." A Bloomberg piece on the same issue, however, cited a Chrysler spokesperson as saying "the 4C probably will be available in the second quarter of next year." In situations like this, when the company has already said twice this year that the 4C would be here this year, words like "probably" are the opposite of uplifting.

So if you live in the US and you're looking forward to the arrival of the 4C you will want to take a look through the high-res press shots again to keep your heart in it for another nine months. Probably.
