Role Summary/Purpose: The Technical Writer works closely with developers, product managers, and project managers to create and revise customer documentation for new and existing power distribution products. Essential Responsibilities: As an individual contributor, the Technical writer is responsible for the documentation of hardware, software, and firmware products. As a part of the Technical Documentation team, the Technical Writer contributes to continuing improvement of the documentation tool set and the documentation development process. Concurrently manage multiple projects monitoring progress and quality and ensure schedule requirements are met Qualifications/Requirements: A university degree or diploma, preferably in engineering/technology related discipline Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer Minimum 5 years of experience with substation control, distribution automation products and systems and associated configuration tools and software High level of competence in FraneMaker, both structured and unstructured Familiarity with DITA/XML and CorelDraw is an asset Excellent written, graphic and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills Able to work in an independent manner utilizing sound judgment to make decisions Hardware and software technology and use Safety and electro-magnetic compatibility compliance standards Multi-language skills are desirable Knowledge of product life cycle management processes and systems
