LeSean McCoy exits with lower leg injury

The Eagles are losing to the Chiefs.  And it appeared at first that they’d lost running back LeSean McCoy.

Late in the second quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Chiefs, McCoy gained 18 yards after a nifty jump cut.  But his left leg was caught under a tackler, and McCoy was writhing in pain while grabbing the area above the ankle.

McCoy eventually walked off the field, and he has likewise walked to the locker room, without a limp.

Alex Flanagan of NFL Network reports that McCoy was stoic as he left the playing area, but then showed emotion once he was through the tunnel.

Stay tuned for more updates as they come.

UPDATE 10:14 p.m. ET:  McCoy emerged from the locker room early in the third quarter, and he has re-entered the game.

BG 1Q Profit Down on Lower Production

LONDON - BG Group PLC said Thursday its first-quarter net profit was down 0.8% on lower production and increased costs in exploration and production, but said it had delivered three key milestones on projects in Brazil and the U.K.

The company, which last year surprised the market by downgrading its production targets, said it was on track to meet its project milestones for this year.

The U.K.'s third-largest oil and natural gas company by market value said net profit for the three months ended March 31 totaled $1.21 billion, compared with $1.22 billion for the first quarter of 2012.

"We have made a good start to the year, delivering the three key milestones for the first quarter, whilst also making progress with our project execution program for the year," said Chief Executive Chris Finlayson.

Excluding gains or losses from one-off items, such as asset sales, the company's profit was $1.18 billion, down 3.4% from $1.23 billion in the same period a year earlier. This was 6.1% above average expectations of $1.12 billion in a Dow Jones Newswires poll of six analysts.

Total oil and gas production was 659,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, a 1.5% fall from the same period a year ago, but slightly above analysts' expectations of 648,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day.

Revenue for the quarter was up 0.6% to $4.91 billion from $4.88 billion a year ago.

Diluted earnings per share were 35.3 cents compared with 34.2 cents the previous year.

Guest Commentary: Spanish IBEX Leading EUR/USD Lower

By Eric Morera 28 March 2013 12:15 GMT
The Spanish IBEX has a very strong correlation with EURUSD and we always use this Index as a proxy to gauge the direction of the next move in EURUSD currency pair. IBEX formed a peak @ 8752 on 1.28.2013 and made a sharp 5 wave decline.

That was enough reason for us to get cautious on EURUSD and we knew a top was just around the corner. EURUSD formed a peak 4 days later on 2.1.2013 and has been trading lower since then. IBEX decline from secondary peak (8675) is incomplete and is in need of 2 more lows which means there should be more downside in EURUSD too toward 1.2600 and may be even 1.2500 region.

Shorter cycles in IBEX are calling for a corrective bounce before more downside which could result in a recovery in EURUSD toward 1.2900 before further weakness is seen.
