Young Hollywood Awards Fug Carpet: Alyssa Milano

I am only Cougar Towning Mistresses — that’s the phrase Heather and I use to describe the practice of only keeping up with a show via its first sixty seconds, caught by your DVR at the tail end of the show you’re actually watching in its entirety. We call it “Cougar Towning” because that was the only way we ever watched Cougar Town. And yet, this is the perfect way to watch Mistresses, because it’s basically just the “Previously On,” and that’s all the good stuff! Alyssa Milano is ALWAYS crying — I guess she’s pregnant and she doesn’t know if it’s her husband’s baby or her, er, Mister’s, and her Evil Husband is being Evil about it. I think she might also want to cry about this, because…look. I like Alyssa Milano.  But I am concerned that, between this jumpsuit, and this thing, her stylist may not.

The Young Hollywood Awards Fugs, Fabs, and Fines: The Patterns

I almost called this group “The Florals,” and then I realized AnnaSophia Robb was covered in butterflies. We’re nothing if not accurate in these parts.

The Young Hollywood Awards: The Rest

It’s a Young Hollywood Melange. And like most melanges –melangii? — some of it is delicious and some of it is perplexing and much of it is boring.

Fugs, Fabs, and Fines: The Dudes of the Young Hollywood Awards

For those of you who felt the CW’s TCA party lacked sufficient Ian Somerhalder, this may be balm to your Damon-less wounds.

Young Hollywood Awards Fug Carpet: Cat Deeley

First of all, the entire concept of the “Young Hollywood Awards” makes me giggle. Just because ALL OF LIFE is essentially an awards show for Young Hollywood, given that the members of said group are basically all young, rich, and hot. When will the Old Regular people be celebrated, I ask you?! All that being said, of course, Young Hollywood is The CW’s meat and potatoes, and I have always said that if The CW were ever to go out of business, I would be beyond distraught. So you HAVE these awards shows, CW. Have them in good health, and please live long and prosper.

And please send me an explanation for what is happening here:

Like, LITERALLY what is happening. Is that a….bandeau…over…a…..I can’t even finish that sentence. I feel like this bodice was mostly recently seen on the back pages of the Victoria’s Secret Swimsuit Sale Circular, and while the lovely Ms Deeley carries it off better than most, surely she deserves better. One’s top should not be a a geometry problem.

Healthy Hollywood: Get Movin’ Monday – Katharine McPhee’s Bold Rules!

First Published: March 18, 2013 1:38 PM EDT Credit:

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Women’s Health Kat McPhee CoverCaption Women’s Health Kat McPhee Cover“I’m most daring about things I’m really passionate about,” reveals Katharine McPhee, the star of NBC’s “Smash” in the April issue of Women’s Health magazine.

Katharine shares with the magazine her tips on finding success in the aggressive showbiz world. “There are those people who are bold at industry parties, who go up to big producers and directors and introduce themselves, and I’m not really like that. I’m really kind of shy, and I’m not the best self-promoter.”

Instead, Katharine lets her talent speak for itself, adding, “You get one opportunity to audition. I like fighting for things in the traditional way – by being as prepared as I possibly can.”

The actress/singer‘s career launched after she was runner-up on “American Idol” back in 2006. The 28-year-old says competing on the reality show was the boldest thing she’s ever done. But, she’s somehow managed to conquer her fears and release 2 albums and is working on a third. “I’ve wanted to have a fun record for so long, and it is fun! I’m not a serious person at all, and people who know me [know] I’m so goofy, and I want that to come out in the music,” adds McPhee.

One thing Katharine is serious about is exercise. She’s in amazing shape. Just check out her enviably flat belly on the April cover of Women’s Health. “My tips for sneaking in a workout are ankle weights. I’ve been actually caught on set wearing ankle weights. With paparazzi photos it’s really not that attractive so I try to do it in private. It’s great waiting around my trailer, I’ll do some like, leg things, and get the muscles going, and wastes some good time,” reveals Katharine.
